North Fork Area Transit had some exciting news to share this week. On Tuesday, December 14th the schedule ahead ride service called TeleLift had a record day of rides. By day’s end drivers had provided 316 rides. Youth rides have been growing and many new riders are becoming aware of the public transit options available in Norfolk and the surrounding area.

The purple buses and yellow vans are very visible around the community. One rider remarked, “I have a car but wanted to ride the purple bus.”  Jeanne Doerneman, Executive Director of North Fork Area Transit, said, “The growth of North Fork Area Transit is a direct result of the dedication from an excellent staff of drivers, that are friendly and caring and dispatchers dedicated to great customer service.”

In spring 2022, a new flex route bus service called “ForkLift” will be added to public transit services with nearly 100 stops across the Norfolk community.
